Work authorization for a part-time job
You will not be able to obtain work authorization directly when you are an international student. Your employer needs to connect with the immigration office in the province, where you will work. They will provide you with an application procedure that you need to fulfill and wait until you are allowed to work. A few things which can help you understand the process:
You do not need a work permit to work as an intern.
You can do a part-time job only for 20 hours a week during the academic semester.
The time period of the contract which is set by your employer should not exceed your visa duration.
You are permitted to work full-time during the non-academic term however, the duration of your contract should be about 90 days.
When you apply for the student visa renewal, you will not be allowed to declare your part-time work earnings as your income source.
